Any child or young person whose mental health needs escalate will be supported to access the right service to help them. There will be no need for a new referral.
If a child or young person’s needs increase while being supported by ECHO, then professionals will speak to CWPT and decide if they should be supported by the more specialist service instead or be supported in a different way. If it looks like a child or young person is escalating to crisis level, professionals from ECHO will work with the family to ensure they are receiving the support they need.
If a child or young person is not currently being supported, urgent, crisis support will still be provided by CWPT.
Anyone of any age, including parents and carers, can also text CWHOPE to 85258 to start a conversation with a mental health professional at any time, day or night.
If you or someone you are with is experiencing a mental health crisis, whatever their age, call 111 and select the mental health option. Available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
Call 999 in a medical emergency – when someone is seriously ill or injured and their life is at risk.
